FAQ

COVID-19 Concerns

What precautions are you taking to protect your customers from COVID-19?
We take sanitization and COVID-19 VERY seriously, we are Barbicide certified and ensure that all guidelines set by the Government of Canada are being followed in the making and packaging of our products. Surfaces and hands are frequently sanitized and before we seal your order we use disinfectant spray all over to ensure that there is no chance of the infection spreading from our end.

Do your products work on all skin types?
Yes, they have been tried and have shown no signs of allergic reactions or irritation from our focus group. Please note that despite this patch tests are ALWAYS recommended.

Can children and pregnant women use your products?
Yes! Our products are safe for use on children and expecting mothers. Our body butters with shea and cocoa butter are especially great for expecting mothers who want to reduce the risk of stretch marks and treat any previous or occurring ones. Please perform a patch test always to ensure there is no allergic reaction as you would with any new skin care product.

Does your butter treat eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis?
The anti- inflammatory and anti-bacterial  properties found in our “Shea Butter Baby” formula are known to significantly help with these conditions. Users have reported significant improvement in their skin when they use the butters consistently. However everyone's skin is different, we recommend a patch test and immediate discontinuation of use if inflammation or irritation occurs.

What if I am allergic to nuts? Can I still use your products?
That would depend on how severe your allergy is, since this product is applied topically some may find that they have no reaction. As always, we recommend a patch test for all users regardless or any prior allergies just to ensure that your skin is compatible with our products.

Are there any added fragrances in your butter?
At this time no, the Shea Butter Baby smells faintly like chocolate due to its high content of cocoa butter and our Man-go Crazy formula has a light fresh scent which some say reminds them of aloe vera and mango. Both do not have a strong or irritating scent, you can always use your favourite fragrance oil from our collection after application to keep you smelling great all day. We do plan on adding more varieties of butters and scents to our collection to be sure to subscribe to our mailing list and follow us on our socials for updates.

Are your scents “Organic”?
No, just like many other perfume/fragrance oils this oil is not made from organically derived materials but is tested on sensitive and various other skin types to ensure that it is safe to use for all.

Are your products Cruelty free/ Vegan?
Yes! It is so important to us that our products are not only free of animal cruelty but also human. We do not work with suppliers that fail to provide their employees with fair wages and benefits. Our ingredients are free trade certified and sustainably harvested. Be sure to check out our “Sustainable Skincare” tab for more information.

What is the expiration date/ shelf life for your products?
Our products are made from all natural ingredients and no additional preservatives. Luckily all ingredients used still have a long shelf life 1-2 years depending on how well you store it. Be sure to follow the following instructions to ensure longevity of your jar;
  • Please do NOT use wet fingers in the jar as this can become a bacteria breeding environment causing molding and other reactions.
  • Refrigeration of our products is allowed but can change the texture and spreadability of our butters.
  • Store in a cool, dry and preferably dark place.

Why the dried roses and lavender buds on top? Can I place them onto my skin when I use the body butter?
Great question! The rose and lavender buds are  added to the butter because we want to provide our consumers with a luxurious experience so when they open their jar they are welcomed by the lovely fragrance of our florals. We do not recommend using the petals on your skin as they are dried and can be abrasive, it is solely for experience purposes. The flowers can however be reused, we recommend adding them to your next bubble bath for a fragrant and relaxing experience.
